These two beautiful kitties have waited a long time to find their happily ever after, but they just haven’t had the luck they need to finally make it from a cage to a home of their very own. Maybe their luck is about to change! Koza and Rhys celebrated their one-year anniversary at NAWS back in June 2026 and just cannot seem to make it out of the rescue. It’s truly baffling since these cats are shy but sweet and will definitely blossom into their best selves once they are in a place where they feel truly safe and secure.. They have just been upgraded to a new, bigger kitty tower, but a home of their own is where they will really shine.

Koza is the beautiful 2-year-old black panther with the most striking yellow eyes. She is hesitant to trust people, but with her baby by her side, she has become much more open to pets and attention. She will definitely need time to decompress and learn to accept the love her people want to give her, but the progress she has made so far is proof she is on her way to bigger and better things once she secures that ticket out of the shelter. Koza likes people who talk to her quietly, pet her gently, and respect her boundaries. She is a gentle little lady looking for the family that will treat her right.

Rhys, like his mama, can be on the shy side, but he is also more willing to come to people for pets and attention. He is a big 1-year-old tabby who loves his mama and protects her from people when he senses she is nervous. His large, gentle eyes are just searching for the people who will finally help him and his mama find the unconditional love they deserve. He is a sweet boy who absolutely loves pets, especially by his tail, but he prefers people who take things slow. He is quicker to trust that Koza, but he is showing her the way, and the progress she has made with him by her side has been wonderful to see
