Domestic Short Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Michigan City, Indiana

Cooper spent some time in a foster home so here is what his foster dad learned about him...

"My beautiful little friend, Cooper the kitten, came into my life a few months ago.

Cooper was part of a cat colony when I first met him, living under the care and supervision of a kind neighbor lady who adored her many cats that resided outside under her house.

Occasionally, I visited my neighbor and her colony of kitty friends, working with her to meet the needs of some of the cats we managed to corral and take for treatment. However, many cats wouldn't come around. Some of them didn't appreciate contact with unknown humans.

Cooper, on the other hand, was different. As a very young kitten, he always came out and was likely a survivor of a larger litter. Whenever I visited, he would come out and greet me with excitement and share his love.

I was able to capture Cooper! I already have two cats and a chihuahua, and adopting another would disrupt the delicate balance in my home. Lucy, the chihuahua, who grew up around cats, quickly became friends with Cooper, and they enjoy playing together. They have a little world in the back porch.

Cooper showed no fear in my adult cats' presence. He behaved well in the crate I kept him in and was allowed out to play on the back porch frequently during the day. He roamed about and enjoyed his little world, but he quickly and quietly returned to the comfort and safety of his crate.

He is truly a cuddle bug, he loves being held, and handled with a purr that is nonstop. I'm sure he will bring as much joy to his next home as he has to ours. He has been truly a delight and a very special friend. I wish him well." -Cooper's foster dad.
