DESCRIPTION
MIEZE (meeza)HAS TESTED + FOR FIV. This virus is spread to other cats through bites. Casual, non-aggressive contact and sharing of bowls and grooming each other does not seem to spread the virus. FIV+ cats/kittens can live in homes with other cats/kittens as long as the cats has a positive social structure and do not fight. Mieze most likely tested positive due to antibodies from her mother who we assume was FIV +. The virus does not normally pass from mother to kittens. We recommend retesting for FIV at her adopter's veterinary clinic in 6 months. The FIV test will most likely be negative, at that time.
