There are cats who keep their distance and cats who want to be right there with you always. I am very much the second kind. I am Mellow, and my whole world revolves around the people I love. I say hello by rubbing against your legs. I ask for what I want with a look that is impossible to ignore, usually directed at my chin because that is where the best scratches happen. And if you sit down at the computer thinking you are going to get something done, I will be there too, because your attention is one of my favorite things and I am not shy about asking for it. When I want to play, I go all in on wand toys and peek-a-boo around corners, tagging you and then darting off so you can chase me, then coming right back to start the whole thing over again. When the energy settles, I settle with it, curling up for cuddles with the same dedication I bring to everything else. I am currently on the mend from a flea allergy and anxious grooming flare-up that irritated my skin, but the calm environment I am in now is making a real difference and I am healing well. I need a quieter home where the peace can continue, and what I will give that home in return is a gentle, loving, deeply devoted companion. Mealtime is sacred to me and I never miss one, so we should be on the same page about that from the start.
