Some cats need a little time to decide whether they trust you.

Kismet just needs a little time to decide you're worthy of his friendship.

Once this handsome gray-and-white boy feels safe, his sweet personality comes shining through. He's friendly, playful, affectionate and LOVES attention from his people.

Kismet can be shy and timid when he first encounters new people or a new environment, but give him a little patience and he'll be right there looking for pets, chin scratches and cuddles. He enjoys being picked up and held, although eventually he'll probably announce, "Okay, that's enough," and scamper off to do something more exciting.

And speaking of exciting... Kismet LOVES to play! Laser pointers and small toys are definitely on his list of favorite things.

He's lived with other animals and does well when he has his own safe space to retreat to. He previously lived with a dog and human kids and did well once he had time to acclimate.

But there's one more thing that makes Kismet's story extra special...

He has a BFF named Karmel.

These two boys have lived together since 2021. Karmel is the relaxed professional lounger; Kismet is the playful, affectionate social butterfly. Different personalities, but they've shared their lives and would love to find a loving home together where they can continue being BFFs.

Kismet's ideal family will be patient enough to let him settle in at his own pace-and once he does, be prepared for a whole lot of love, playtime and attention.

Bonus points if there's room for his best buddy Karmel, too.
