Meet Petal!

Petal may be petite, but this little girl has packed a whole lot of personality into her tiny tuxedo body. At about five months old, she's still noticeably smaller than most kittens her age, which somehow only adds to her charm. Between her perfectly imperfect little facial markings, fearless personality, and hilarious little quirks, Petal has a way of making everyone around her smile.

She's incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. Her purr motor is almost always running, cuddles are high on her list of priorities, and she's never met a stranger. She's also playful, curious, and remarkably fearless. Petal loves other cats and has happily made friends with dogs, too. If there's fun happening somewhere, she wants to be part of it.

Petal's journey has been a little different from that of most kittens. When she was very young, her foster family noticed some unusual symptoms that eventually led to a diagnosis of FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). Thankfully, FIP is now treatable, and Petal has completed her full 84-day course of antiviral medication and is doing wonderfully.

Petal does have a few mild neurological quirks that may be related to her FIP. Every once in a while, she can get a little turned around or briefly lose her bearings. Mostly, though, it just makes Petal...Petal. She's a wonderfully quirky little character whose occasional confused moments are far more endearing than limiting. They don't stop her from playing, exploring, cuddling, making friends, or enjoying life right alongside everyone else.

As with any animal with a medical history, we can't promise exactly what Petal's future will look like. What we can tell you is what she's showing us today: a happy kitten who has come an incredibly long way and is ready for her next adventure.

Petal will need someone who can embrace a little uncertainty and love her quirks as much as we do. In return, you'll get an exceptionally sweet, funny little companion who will keep you laughing, keep you cuddling, and remind you every day that being a little different can be pretty wonderful.

Her foster mom lovingly calls her “Busy Dizzy” because Petal is always on the move, even if she occasionally takes the scenic route. It's a nickname that perfectly captures this funny, fearless little girl who has never let being a little different slow her down.

Petal is currently fostered with her friend Elora, and the two get along wonderfully, if you happen to be looking for an adorable ready-made pair! She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and being fostered in North Denver.
