Meet Harold and Maude - A Gentle, Bonded Brother & Sister Pair

Don't ads this orange duo up! Just look at those faces! This sweet pair is looking for a patient forever home where they can continue to blossom together. Maude is the beautiful, uniquely colored female dilute torbie (on the left), and her brother, Harold, is the handsome, wide-eyed dark orange tabby boy (on the right). As a bonded pair of kittens, they share an incredible connection, love to cuddle up together in cozy spots, and must be adopted into the same home.

Harold: used to be the first to do everything, but now he is stepping back and showing his sister it's okay to make the first move. He has totally embraced the comforts of his foster home. While can still be a bit skittish and will startle at loud noises or sudden movements, his affectionate side is truly shining through. He absolutely loves to rub up against his people to show affection, and once you pick him up, he completely melts, relaxes his body, and purrs up a storm!

Maude: Blossoming Flower
Maude is a sensitive, quiet soul who used to look to her brother for reassurance but lately her confidence has been shining through. She is still shy, but she loves a good lap to lay on. Maude truly wants to enjoy the world-she just needs a little extra time and patience to adjust to new things. Like her brother, she relaxes beautifully and purrs when held, showing just how much sweet potential is waiting to unlock.

Their Dream Home
Because both kittens are still a bit skittish, they will thrive best in a predictable, relatively calm environment without a lot of loud, sudden commotion. They would be fine and actually welcome a home that has other cats as they have learned to play and be social with their foster's 6 other cats. They need an adopter who understands that building trust is a journey. The reward of watching them become braver and seeing them both turn into confident, loving companions, will be absolutely worth the wait!

FOSTER-TO-ADOPT PROGRAM
Not sure if a particular pet will be the perfect match? Our Foster-to-Adopt program is the way to go FMCA's foster-to-adopt program is essentially a trial period so you can be sure your selection is a good fit for your home and family. This is especially helpful if you have other pets and children or just need more time to make a final decision.

FOSTER-TO-ADOPT PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
The Foster-to-Adoption program requires a fully approved application. Applicant must be 21 years old All applicants must complete an application, undergo a residency and vet verification plus a virtual interview/home visit prior to application approval. We also require a drivers' license, or other form of ID, for each adult in the household.

CAT ADOPTION APPLICATION
We process adoptions through ShelterLuv. The first step is to complete an application:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FMCA/Cat

If you do not have a specific pet in mind, please list a general description of what you are looking for, i.e. adult female cat or pair of kittens or unknown, etc. under the section titled "Which animals are you interested in?" This will allow us to quickly determine if we may have what you are looking for readily available or in one of our foster homes still going through the vetting process.

You will hear from us in the next few days. Please note, FMCA is an all-volunteer organization and most of our volunteers work full-time, so please be patient.

After an applicant is fully approved and an appropriate pet is selected, we will coordinate pet transfer. We will stay in touch to monitor during the two-or three-week trial period. If it's a go, we will finalize the adoption electronically. During the trial period, we are always available to help with items such as getting pets settled in, pet introductions and ways to help shy pets acclimate. If things don't work out, the pet will return to FMCA.

Please email us at info@fmca.org with any questions regarding the adoption process.
