DESCRIPTION

Hello. My name is Tundra. I had a rough start in life being born outside and somehow getting separated from my mom and littermates. I was first discovered scavenging getting into trash at a nearby human home because I was so hungry. They didn't see me doing it and set a trap thinking it would be a possum or raccoon, but they got me instead. They didn't want to just turn me loose as they lived in a rural area with several predators. I knew about some of them already and was very scared being outside all alone. So the people contacted Ms Tana, and she agreed to get me fully vetted and try to work on socializing me.

I got neutered, combo tested negative, rabies and fvrcp vaccinated, dewormed, left ear tipped, and microchipped. The left ear tip got done in case I was not able to be socialized and ended up back outside at some point. I didn't want that though because it was definitely too risky and dangerous. Ms Tana decided to put me in a large 3-shelf kitty condo cage with another kitten about my age who was already very friendly with humans. She was hoping he would help teach me that humans could be a very good thing. I didn't know though. I was super cautious and distrusting, avoiding every touch for quite a while. I finally started letting Ms Tana pet me a little and actually kind of liked it. Eventually, my "roommate" kitty got adopted, and then I was by myself in the cage. It got a little lonely, so I was looking more and more forward to Ms Tana talking to and petting me. I even rubbed against her hands wanting more. After that, Ms Tana let me out of the cage to socialize with all the other cats and see how I would do in the household. I still wanted her attention too and loved the petting, being near her, and getting on the bed and sleeping with her. I'm still nervous about being picked up and carried around though. I will let her do it, but I'm not comfortable about it and try to get down pretty fast.

I want to be somewhere safe that I will be loved and cherished as a fur family member furever. I would also like to have other cat friends. I think Ms Tana is going to call my previous roommate's people to see if they might be interested in adopting me too. But if not, I need some cat experienced people to give me a chance to show them just how sweet and loving I can be. (I have never been around children and would probably not be a good choice for them or anyone who is not well experienced with cats, their behaviors, and body language.) Oh, yeah ... I LOVE my wet, canned food at night. It helps me sleep well and have good dreams. I'm really a very special boy. I was very fortunate to be trapped last October before anything bad happened to me. I definitely have both a playful side and a cuddly side. Will you please give me a chance to bond with you and live happily ever after with you? I purromise you will be glad you did.
