Shrek is an orange cat, and orange cats are like ogres. And ogres are like onions.
Is this because they smell? No. Well, yes, if said orange cat happened to get into something he shouldn't have in the foster room.
Is this because they make you cry? Absolutely not! ...Well, maybe. An orange cat has been known to break a glass or two, shred a curtain, or try to scale your window screens like a gravity-defying mountaineer.
But that is not why they are onions. It's because they have layers!
The very first layer you encounter is his beautifully chaotic orange-and-white coat. Peel that back, and you'll find a kid who is still actively learning the finer points of how to kitten. Shrek is an awesome, sweet little guy who is currently busy investigating the world and trying to figure out how everything works.
He has zero filter and believes in maintaining clear lines of communication with his human staff. He isn't a non-stop screamer, but he will absolutely voice his opinion when the situation calls for it, marching right up to have a quick chat or scaling your jeans to get a better look at your face.
Peeling back his other layers reveals:
-The Screen-Scaling Investigator: Shrek dedicates his working hours to testing out his boundaries and exploring his surroundings. This currently includes a highly specific hobby of practicing his vertical ascent on the window screens and figuring out the perfect physics for ambush-pouncing his swamp siblings.
-The Selective Snuggler: He genuinely loves pets, but because he is a busy baby trying to make sense of his environment, he can be a bit of a squirmy cuddler. He is gracefully getting used to the concept of being held, though if he thinks your carrying technique isn't quite up to his personal standards, he will absolutely let his thoughts be known.
Shrek is an incredibly fun, sweet dude who is tracking to adapt smoothly to almost any household layout. Because he is a high-energy baby under 6 months old who is still learning the ropes, he will need to be adopted with one of his swamp littermates or join a family that already features a friendly, playful feline mentor to show him how to cat.
He is currently accepting pre-adoption applications, meaning his forever family can reserve him right now to prepare for his official move-out from the swamp in early August!
Estimated DOB: May 8, 2026
Adoption Fee: $225.00
