Deinonychus - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Brookings, South Dakota

Meet Deinonychus! This little dinosaur may have a prehistoric name, but she’s all about modern-day mischief! Born in our care on June 10, 2026, Deinonychus is a spunky grey-and-black marbled tabby with extra toes and extra attitude! As a polydactyl kitty, she has bonus digits that give her paws an adorably oversized look—like she’s always ready to give you a high-five or get into a little extra trouble.
Deinonychus has lived with kids and other cats, so she’s no stranger to having a crew around. With her unique paws, marbled coat, and lively personality, this little dino is ready to stomp her way right into your heart!

Meet and greet/adoption appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!
DON'T FORGET! Cats often do better with a friend! All our cats and kittens have an "Adopt one and the 2nd at half the adoption fee!" bonus!!!

Our kitten/cat adoption fees vary on age, ($25-125 +TAX) special needs, lonely heart status (cats that have been with us 6+ months), and for our senior to seniors program. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our cats/kittens are current on vaccinations (FVRCP series and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), treated for fleas/ticks/earmites in addition to being spayed or neutered once the cat reaches 2 lbs in weight. All cats and kittens adopted from the shelter are microchipped. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances.

Because we are on a busy street, we require that all cats leaving the shelter be in a carrier. All pets are up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee is paid.
