Cantaloupe (g) - Domestic Short Hair Cat for Adoption in Bedford, New Hampshire

Cantaloupe is a striking black kitty with wide eyes. He's in need of someone to provide him patience and a home to call his own.

He's frightened of humans currently. He came into the shelter with a group of cats, with far less contact with humans than average.

Cantaloupe is estimated to be three years old. He may will learn to socialize with people over time or he may end up as a spirit cat and best friend to your cat.

Cantloupe seems to enjoy the company of other cats so it might be helpful if a potential adopter had a friendly cat to show him the ropes and teach him people are good! Cats as fearful as him generally struggle with the presence of a dog (unless they're very old and totally hands off). He is hoping for a quiet home.

He will need to start in one room or a small space while he gets to know you (that way he will hide in comfortable spots you create and not behind the desk). Just until he gets comfortable with you and/or your cat!
