Mabel is a lover girl at heart but had a hard life on the streets- left with 2 ears torn from being attacked and an unfortunate case of FIV, she definitely is grateful to be in her foster home now. She was originally intended to be a TNR (trap neuter return) cat in her colony, but when all the cats were returned, all the other cats sprinted off away from the traps, but Mabel turned around to go get pets from the volunteer trapper. And insisted on following her to her car and hoping in to ride and purr on her lap the whole way home. A girl that sweet shouldn't be on the streets, so she's finally able to enter her soft girl era where she is able to rest and be loved on.
If you're unfamiliar with FIV, the bottom line is these cats live long healthy lives and transmission only happens from fighting, mating, or in utero, but they are more susceptible to infections like colds.

Most FIV positive cats can live in homes with other cats without issue, but Mable would be best in a home with only other calm cats or dogs who aren't interested in trying to play with her. She can live peacefully around other pets as long as the other pets agree they are roommates, not besties.
Mabel would do best in a home that is experienced with cats. Dog and human children siblings would be considered on a case by case basis (calm, experienced with cats) since she has done well around calm dogs and kids in the past, but her play style sometimes still includes gentle claws- not with the intent to scratch, just grab- and she's still learning that others aren't a fan of that move even when it's just play to her.
Her ideal day goes: sleep late, breakfast, heavy duty scratch and pet session with some being carried around and kissed on the nose and told she's a perfect princess angel baby, nap in the sun for 4 hours, "hunt" birds from her view inside on the windowsill, put her butt in front of the camera on a Zoom call while trying to get more pets, second nap, dinner, more cuddles next to you while you wind down on the couch. Throw in a wand toy and a Churu in there somewhere and this is the happiest girl you'll ever meet.
Mabel is around 3 years old, does excellent with the litter box, has been spayed, is up to date on her vaccines (rabies and FVRCP), microchipped, and is up to date on parasite (flea and intestinal worm) prevention. As mentioned above, she has been tested for FIV/FeLV and is negative for FeLV but is positive for FIV.
She's a sweet girl who deserves a second chance. Will you be the one to give it to her?

Available for adoption with transport to the PNW, Colorado, and the Northeast. Sorry we cannot adopt out in NH, RI or ME.
Transport is included in the adoption fee. Adoption fee is $150 in all states except MA. Adoption fee is $250 in MASSACHUSETTS ONLY to cover state mandated $155 isolation facility fees.
