Willow needed friends.
What started with one lonely FIV-positive kitten turned into a rescue mission for five more kittens who desperately needed a second chance.
So the FIV Five became:
Monroe because every great story has a beginning, and his rescue started it all.
Hope because every kitten deserves it.
Phoenix because they rose from circumstances that could have ended very differently.
Journey because rescue is never a straight path.
Chance because sometimes all it takes is one chance to change a life.
And at the center of it all is Willow, the kitten who simply needed friends.
Together, they're not just the FIV Fivethey're Willow's Friends.
But here's the important part: a positive FIV antibody test in young kittens does NOT mean they have FIV. The test only detects antibodies, not the virus itself. If a kitten's mother was FIV-positive, she can pass those antibodies to her babies. Those antibodies can remain in a kitten's system for months before disappearing. In fact, kittens who initially test positive later test completely negative once those maternal antibodies clear. Learn all about it from the Kitten Lady

Willow doesn't know any of this, of course.
She only knows that he loves toys, soft beds, tasty food, and curling up with her friends after a long day of kitten adventures. She doesn't know she was almost euthanized. She doesn't know people might hesitate because of a test result they don't fully understand.
She just knows she's ready to be loved.
We're committed to giving Willow and the rest of the FIV Five the time they need, along with follow-up testing and lots of TLC, so they can have the futures they deserve.
If you've been thinking about adopting, fostering, or simply helping spread the word, Willow would appreciate it. After all, this little survivor has already beaten the odds more than once.
Please share Willow's story.

Because every kitten deserves a chance, especially the ones who need someone willing to look beyond a test result.
Five kittens. Five second chances.
Welcome to the FIV Five, and Willow, the gorgeous girl that started it early.
So we named them for the story they represent:
Monroe -- the beginning
Hope -- what kept them going
Phoenix -- rising above hardship
Journey -- the road that brought them here
Chance -- the gift they were given
Together, they're the FIV Five.
