Domestic Long Hair and Tabby Cats Available for Adoption in Marietta, Ohio

Shug is an adorable 2-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his tearful owner on April 10, 2026 because he could no longer keep Shug due to having a severe allergy to him (and had tried everything possible to find a solution). Shug was his soulmate, and we know that they were both heartbroken to have been separated.

Shug has a brown tabby-and-white longhaired coat, a long fluffy tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes and nice 'ear furnishings', a white muzzle, a pink nose, and extra-long white whiskers.

This handsome boy has a sweet, easygoing disposition and a quiet, docile personality.

These photos of Shug were taken on April 21st, and he melted our photographer's heart when he remained in the corner of his large cage and quietly looked at the camera when she opened the cage door .. and was content to watch and listen as she carried on a soft one-sided conversation with Shug and told him what a good boy he was.

Shug was given vaccinations and Pyrantel dewormer on April 23, 2026. Shug had previously been vetted at his owner's veterinarian clinic. Shug weighed 10 lbs when he entered our shelter.

Shug is currently in a double-wide cage in The Jungle Room where most of our adoptable cats are housed.

Shug will be neutered in the near future (tentatively on May 4th) and will soon be ready to find another home with someone who will love him as much as his previous owner did.
