Meet Teddy!
Teddy is a big, handsome 2-year-old boy who has spent his entire life surviving on the streets. After everything he’s been through, he’s finally getting the chance to learn what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cared for — and it turns out, this big guy is an absolute lovebug.
Teddy is incredibly affectionate, cuddly, and gentle. He loves being close to his people, making biscuits, and even suckling on you when he’s feeling extra cozy and content. He truly does not have a bad bone in his body. Despite having every reason to be cautious after life on the streets, Teddy just wants to love and be loved.
You can tell this sweet boy has been through a lot, which makes it even more special to watch him discover the comforts of indoor life. A soft bed, a full belly, a warm lap, and someone to cuddle with are all things Teddy is finally learning he deserves. He has so much love to give and seems incredibly grateful for every bit of affection he receives. This boy is like a dog-cat ha! Also in some of the pics you can catch his cute little teeth that stick out too!
Teddy is FIV-positive, but please don’t let that diagnosis scare you away from this amazing boy. FIV does not mean Teddy is sick. He is healthy, happy, and enjoying life just like any other cat. He does not take meds. Many FIV-positive cats live long, healthy lives, sometimes for many years without developing ANY FIV-related illness. (source: Cornell Vet School)
FIV is only spread through deep bite wounds, not through simply cuddling, grooming, or sharing a home peacefully. This means friendly, non-aggressive cats like Teddy can live very happily with other cats, particularly in a stable indoor home.
What Teddy needs now is something he has never truly had before: a family of his own. If you're looking for a big, gentle teddy bear of a cat who will happily make biscuits in your lap and soak up all the love he missed out on, Teddy is your boy.
Please give Teddy the chance to meet you. We promise... he’ll do the rest!
