Rescue Stinkpot Turtles

The stinkpot turtle, also known as the common musk turtle, is a small freshwater turtle with a highly domed dark brown to black shell and a distinctive ability to release a foul smelling musk when feeling threatened. These turtles are known for their relatively aggressive behavior compared to other turtle species and are predominantly found in shallow, slow moving bodies of water across North America. They have a diet consisting of both plant and animal matter, making them integral members of their aquatic ecosystems.
