Matthew and Jane - Dwarf Rabbit for Adoption in Saint Charles, Missouri

Remember the elderly gentleman who sobbed as he surrendered his rabbits to us?

He loved them deeply. But his wife was very sick and his rabbits were beginning to need more care than he could provide. He knew letting them go was the best thing for them, even though it absolutely broke his heart.

Well, here’s Matthew and Jane.

This duo is around 10 years old and were actually the mom and dad of all the other rabbits from his home. And after a decade together, apparently personal space is no longer part of the marriage.

Their fosters say they are the perfect little duo.

Wherever Matthew goes, Jane is probably tucked directly into his side. Eating together. Resting together. Investigating together. Probably discussing the children and whether they ever call enough.

They adore each other, but they’re also incredibly social with people and love coming over to hang out. Basically, they’ve been married for 47 bunny years and somehow still like each other AND other people. Incredible.

They aren’t quite ready for adoption yet. At their age, some health issues keep popping up, and we want to get everything taken care of before sending them off to their forever home.

But once they get the all clear, these little senior lovebirds will be looking for someone to love them through their golden years.

And yes...Jane IS behind Matthew in that last photo.
