Mitzi is a 1-year-old, 6-pound Yorkie and Toy Poodle mix who was found as a stray in Detroit and never reclaimed. This little sweetheart is now looking for a patient, loving family and a home to call her own.
Mitzi can be timid when meeting new people and needs a little time to feel comfortable. Give her a gentle introduction and the chance to get to know you, and her sweet personality begins to shine. She is a quiet girl who would thrive in an adult-only home where her family will respect her pace and help her build confidence.
She has done well with both dogs and cats, so a home with furry friends could be a good fit. Mitzi is crate trained and has demonstrated a good understanding of house manners. She is still learning leash manners and will need continued patience and encouragement as she becomes more comfortable exploring the world. She is not a good fit for a tether or invisible fence.
Her curly coat will require regular grooming to keep her comfortable and free of mats. Beneath those little curls is a deserving girl who simply needs someone to make her feel safe, cherished, and at home.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.
While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
