Meet Crispin York: a two-year-old, 11 pound, Yorkie mix with a quiet love of nature documentaries. He is looking for a patient, adult or teen-and-up home with another small, gentle dog and a fully fenced yard and a family who will let him set the pace.

Crispin came from a hoarding situation, so the world still feels a little big and unpredictable to him. He is skittish and does not yet love being touched. He is a flight risk and will try hard to slip a leash or collar. That is why the right family will matter so much. What he already shows is promise. He comes out of his crate for food, eats from hands, and will wander nearby when he feels safe. He does not live in the crate unless something startles him. He is very food-motivated, which is a wonderful way to build trust.

He likes older children and other small dogs. He enjoys watching nature shows on TV. He just needs a calmer house, consistency, and people who will celebrate small steps instead of rushing them. Crispin is not the dog who will bounce into your lap on day one. He is the dog who will, with time, patience, and a lot of love, start to believe the world can be kind.

If you have another dog companion, a secure yard, and the heart to go slowly, he could become a loyal

little shadow who currently still prefers the wildlife channel to being scooped up. He deserves a home that meets him where he is and gives him room to become who he can be.
