Clive came from a hoarding home and is still discovering that the world can be a safe, happy, and pretty wonderful place. He’s definitely still a little skittish, especially with new people, but he’s warming up to the humans and dogs around him and showing more of his personality every day. He’s bright, affectionate, and, as we’re discovering, a funny little dog with a whole lot of spunk hiding underneath that cautious exterior.

Clive must go to a home with another dog. He really comes out of his shell around small and medium-sized dogs, becoming curious, playful, and much more himself. He gets along with children and dogs overall, although larger, very energetic dogs can still make him a little unsure when play gets too rowdy. Having canine friends around has clearly helped his confidence.

Clive LOVES being outside and has a playful, adventurous side that comes out in the yard. He’s still building his leash skills and, so far, has only practiced them in a fenced space. A fully fenced yard is required because this little guy can easily jump a 26-inch gate and looks pretty pleased with himself afterward! His off-leash reliability is unknown, so a secure fence is essential for his safety.

Clive is not house-trained yet, but he is smart and making progress. He’s looking for a patient home with another dog, a secure fenced yard, and someone willing to give him the time and encouragement to keep blooming. We have a feeling there’s a whole lot of fun waiting to come out of this sweet, spunky little guy.
