Chip is an adorable 4-year-old Yorkie mix weighing 9 pounds. His coarse coat is low maintenance and low to no shed.

Chip is an active, athletic terrier who loves toys and is good at entertaining himself. He would make a great companion for someone who enjoys walking or is interested in clicker training. Like most terriers, he'll bark when there's something worth announcing and he is undeterred by his tiny size.

Chip is initially unsure when he meets new people but learned quickly to trust his foster mom and other women. He is slower to trust men, so his adopter will need to be patient and allow him time to adjust at his pace.

Because Chip is quick and can dart through open doors, his new family must be vigilant around exterior doorways.

The ideal home for Chip would be with someone who has experience going slow and moving at Chips pace and wants to bond with a dog through training and enrichment activities.

Chip will do best as an only dog however he has learned to co-exist peacefully in his foster home.

WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be attached to the home, 4 feet or higher with gaps with no larger than 1.25 inches. An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions.

We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business.

Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports.

Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, Bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing.
