“Meet Pollen 🌼
Tiny dog. Big feelings. Questionable life experience.
Pollen is an approximately 18 month old yorkie mix — maybe with some poodle, maybe some westie, maybe a little bit of pure chaos sprinkled in for personality. There is definitely a lot going on here, but somehow it all comes together into one very lovable little dog.
This sweet girl came from a breeding/hoarding situation where many dogs were living together in one home, so the world is still a pretty confusing place for her. She wants love SO badly, and once she bonds to you, she bonds HARD. Right now, she believes her human should never leave her sight ever again. Like… ever.
Pollen is affectionate, playful, funny, and still very puppy-like in many ways. Unfortunately, nobody ever taught her actual puppy manners, so she’s currently taking a crash course in “How To Dog.”
That means:
• She jumps when excited
• She gives puppy nips during play
• She struggles with being alone
• She will need patience, structure, and consistency
• She is absolutely not a “perfect little lap dog” right out of the gate
Because of her anxiety and sensitivity, we believe Pollen would do best in a calmer home with no young children and likely as an only dog. Older children who understand boundaries may be okay.
What she truly needs is someone patient, experienced, and committed to helping her feel safe while she learns how to navigate her new life. Someone willing to celebrate the little victories, laugh through the chaos, and understand that healing takes time.
We are determined to set Pollen up for success with the right person or family. Underneath all her quirks is a sweet little dog who desperately wants to trust, love, and belong.
And honestly? Watching a dog like Pollen slowly realize she’s safe is one of the most rewarding things in the world. 🤍
Her foster family states she is very affectionate. She barks but not excessively, mostly at the lawn mover. She gets along with the family cats and guinea pig, even allowing the guinea pig to climb on her. She follows people closely and loves to eat. She did very well in the bath tub. She is extremely puppy like.
