Lucy - Yellow Labrador Retriever and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Milan, Illinois

PLEASE NOTE: Lucy is not currently in our shelter building! If you're interested in meeting her, please call us at 309-787-6830 and leave a message so we can schedule an appointment.

Say hello to Lucy! If you're looking for a little sunshine in your life, Lucy might be your girl! This cheery 3-year-old Yellow Lab mix is such a sweetie, and she's ready to find a family to call her own.

Lucy has that lovable Lab charm, and she's sure to bring plenty of smiles to the people lucky enough to have her in their lives. She deserves a home where she can soak up all the love, enjoy life's little adventures, and finally settle in with her very own people.

Lucy is heartworm positive, which means she has been infected with heartworms that can damage the heart and lungs if left untreated. The good news is that heartworm disease is treatable! We'll go over her care needs and the next steps with potential adopters so they know what to expect. Treatment does require some extra attention, including restricted activity during recovery, but we'll help make sure adopters understand the process.

Lucy has so much love to give, and a heartworm diagnosis doesn't make her any less deserving of a wonderful home. Can't adopt? Please share!

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
