DESCRIPTION
Ruxin is an adorable, five-year-old Wirehaired Terrier mix who weighs about 18 pounds. He is in need of a new home because his family recently had their first human child and Ruxin is not doing well with the new addition. He has some wonderful qualities but being great with kids isn’t one of them, unfortunately. Ruxin takes a daily dose of the drug Prozac to help manage his anxiety. While it does help him, he still requires a specific environment in order to thrive.
Ruxin loves to run around and play with his toys. He needs a fenced in yard preferably as he likes to chase squirrels and chipmunks. Ruxin is a great watchdog but outside of the fence he needs to be walked on a leash as he will bark at other people and dogs. He has excellent house manners. Ruxin is leash, crate, and house-trained and he knows basic commands such as sit, speak, down, and up. He is smart and receptive to training. He is very affectionate and he loves all the attention but he can be clingy. Ruxin has been a one-person dog and he tends to be protective of “his” person so he may do best with a single adult to whom he can fully devote himself. This precious boy is as loyal as they come and he will make a wonderful companion for someone who will love and understand him, quirks and all.
Ruxin is fully vetted -- neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and current on vaccinations and deworming. The adoption fee is $300. We accept payment in the form of cash, CashApp and Zelle. SOHFGA is based in Lawrenceville, GA and all of our animals are in foster homes. We schedule meet-and-greets/adoptions by appointment with approved applicants.
