MEET SKYE - 4 yrs
Skye is a beautiful female White Swiss Shepherd. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, house trained, and incredibly loyal once she bonds with her people.
Personality
Skye has been an anxious dog since puppyhood and is very shy around new people. She will usually bark and hide near someone she trusts when unfamiliar visitors enter the home. However, once she gets to know you, she becomes deeply affectionate and never wants to leave your side.
She is wonderful with:
Other dogs
Children (after proper introductions)
People she trusts
She has never shown aggression toward people or animals.
Energy & Exercise
Skye is extremely athletic and fast she absolutely loves playing fetch and going to the dog park. A fenced backyard would be ideal for her because she enjoys running and burning off energy safely.
She does have prey drive toward squirrels, birds, and rabbits.
Training & Habits
Skye knows several commands including:
Sit
Shake a paw
Lie down
Recall
She is fully house trained and sleeps on the floor beside the bed. She is not destructive and does not guard food or toys.
Leash walking is still a challenge due to her anxiety. She has a tendency to slip out of harnesses and run back toward home.
Separation Anxiety
Skyes biggest challenge is separation anxiety especially when separated from her big brother Bentley. She is very dependent on him for confidence and comfort. When with Bentley, she is calm and relaxed, but without him she becomes extremely stressed and fearful.
A previous rehoming attempt was unsuccessful because Skye struggled emotionally without Bentley and became too anxious to go outside comfortably.
Skye would do best:
In a patient, quiet home
With another confident dog
Preferably with Bentley if possible
With adopters experienced with anxious dogs
Health
Spayed
Vaccinated (2025)
Microchipped
No known medical issues
No known allergies
Why She Needs a New Home
Skye is being rehomed due to severe allergies affecting a new baby in the household. This is an extremely difficult decision made out of necessity, not because of any behavioral concerns.
Final Notes
Once Skye trusts you, she is incredibly loving, loyal, gentle, and devoted. She simply needs patience, understanding, and ideally another dog companion to help her feel secure.
She deserves a home where she can continue building confidence while feeling safe and loved.
Thank you for considering adoption.
