I dont know exactly how I ended up alone.

I just know that one day I was hurt, scared, and lying on the side of the road after being hit by a car.

The accident took one of my legs so I am a recent tripod.

But it didn't take my kindness.

It didn't take my gentle heart.

It didn't take my ability to love.

Today I'm only about a year old. I'm 61 pounds, heartworm negative, neutered, and friendly with other dogs. I may even be mostly potty trained.

What breaks my heart isn't having three legs.

Its wondering if that's all people will see.

Will they see the missing leg and keep scrolling?

Will they assume I'm broken?

Will they see the sweet, gentle boy whose tail still wags with attention, who still wants a family, who still believes someone out there might choose him?

Maybe my story doesn't end on the side of a road.

Maybe it ends on a couch, with a family who sees me exactly as I am and says, You're perfect.
