Id like to get one awkward thing out of the way first...

I wear wraps.

Yep. Belly bands. I have a little dribbling issue. Its embarrassing, but I handle it like the gentleman I am. I patiently wait for my wrap changes, and then Im ready to get back to the important things in life...

Like squeaky toys.

Actually...I love my toys. They make me so happy. Im kind of a big kid in a senior dogs body.

People see 10 years old and imagine a dog who wants to nap all day.

Not me.

I LOVE my daily walks. I still have plenty of energy, and if you throw a ball, Ill remind you age is just a number. I love being brushed, I love attention, and my kennel is my cozy little bedroom where I happily relax.

Im also pretty smart. I know sit, stay, shake, come, and I try very hard to be a good boy. Im even a good boy with other dogs with good introductions.

Life hasnt always been fair to me. The people I counted on let me down, over and over. I was surrendered to a high kill shelter but people saw the joy and life I still had in me.

I know most people are looking for the young, perfect dog.

Im the older guy with gray on my face, wraps around my waist, and a toy in my mouth.

But if youll look a little deeper, youll find a dog who still wakes up every morning excited to go for a walk, play with his favorite ball, and make you laugh.

Ive already had enough disappointment for one lifetime.

What Id really like now...is a person that wont let me down again.

Harley is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to trade his kennel for a forever home. His adoption fee is sponsored for an approved adopter. All he needs is someone willing to see past his age and his wraps—and into his enormous heart.

Rescue Coop is a registered 501c that saves dogs from imminent euthanasia and at risk situations and transports them directly to approved adopters nationwide. We are located in SC but in three years, we have placed 550 dogs in 28 states. We post our dogs in the areas we regularly transport to. Our adoption fee is $200 with no additional transport charges. Unfortunately we are unable to do meet and greets but our adoption coordinators strive to make excellent matches.
