Meet Precious

If ears could talk, Precious would have a lot to say.

This beautiful whippet/shepherd mix girl is part of the Tecate Litter, a group of siblings rescued from difficult conditions in Tecate, Mexico. When Precious arrived, she was severely underweight and clearly hadn't had an easy start in life. Yet somehow, she greeted the world with a wagging tail, a curious spirit, and a heart full of love.

Despite everything she's been through, Precious is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. She's gentle, affectionate, and loves being close to her people. She has a calm, docile nature but is also incredibly curious and eager to learn. In fact, within just one day of arriving, she had already figured out how to use the doggie door.

Precious gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and children, making her an easy addition to almost any family. She's currently learning what life as a beloved family dog looks like and is soaking up every lesson along the way.

Like many dogs who have experienced food scarcity, Precious is very food-motivated and gets excited at mealtime. A slow feeder will help her eat comfortably while she continues gaining the healthy weight she needs.
