Watson - Wheaten Terrier and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in New Orleans, Louisiana

Meet Watson - A Little Angel Scruffy Looking for His Forever Home

Some dogs arrive in rescue with a heartbreaking history. Others arrive carrying a little mystery-but somehow manage to make it very clear that they've been waiting for someone just like you.
Meet Watson, a 17-pound, approximately 6-8-year-old sweetheart who was found as a stray in New Orleans. He was microchipped, but sadly, his previous owner could not be reached, and the phone numbers associated with his chip are no longer in service. So Watson's past may remain a mystery-but his future doesn't have to be.
His foster mom calls him her "Angel Scruffy," and it's easy to see why. Watson is the kind of dog who quietly wins your heart without even trying. He is gentle, happy, curious and incredibly loving. He loves being with his people and will happily follow his foster around, content just to be part of whatever she's doing.
And despite having plenty of playful energy, Watson also knows how to lay low and relax. He doesn't bark, doesn't chew up things he shouldn't, and he hasn't had any accidents in the house. He's friendly with other dogs and simply ignores the cats. Take him to the park and-well, apparently, Watson thinks that's a pretty wonderful idea, too!
He has also discovered the joy of treats, and judging by his reaction, his foster suspects Watson may not have been spoiled with many of those in his former life. He's making up for lost time now!
With his scruffy cream-colored coat, soulful eyes and irresistible little beard, Watson looks like he could have some Wheaten or Cairn Terrier in his family tree. But whatever his mix, we know one thing for certain: there's a whole lot of sweetness packed into those 17 pounds.
Watson isn't demanding. He doesn't need a fancy lifestyle or endless entertainment. He just wants to be near his person, enjoy a walk or an outing, accept a few treats, and have a soft place to rest his head at the end of the day.
After finding himself alone on the streets of New Orleans, this sweet little guy deserves something he may never have had before: a family who chooses him forever.
If you're looking for a gentle, happy, easygoing companion with a little scruffy charm and a LOT of love to give, Watson may just be your angel in disguise.
Watson is ready to leave his stray days behind and start the next-and best-chapter of his life.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
