FREDDIE: Small Package. Big Opinions. Absolutely No Regrets.
Meet Freddie, a four-year-old petite silver Weimaraner who packs approximately 110% personality into one very busy little body.
Smart, affectionate, bossy, mischievous, and endlessly entertaining, Freddie is living proof that big personalities don't require big packages.
In Freddie's world, girls don't just run the world. Freddie runs the world. Or at least she's firmly convinced she should.
Freddie has exactly two speeds: full throttle and completely out of gas. One minute she's bouncing through the house, wrestling the couch like it's an enormous sea monster. The next, someone has apparently removed her batteries, and she's sound asleep.
And then there are the toys.
Oh, the toys.
Freddie LOVES her toys. Squeaky toys, floppy toys, squishy toys preferably ALL the toys. A full toy box is simply an invitation to empty it. She carries her treasures throughout the house, takes them outside, brings them back through the dog door, tosses them into the air, and occasionally performs a little unauthorized surgery.
Walking through Freddie's house without stepping on something that squeaks is practically an Olympic event.
Unfortunately, Freddie also believes that possession is nine-tenths of the law, and the remaining tenth is negotiable.
If another dog has a toy she wants, Freddie can deliver a stare so convincing that surrender suddenly seems like an excellent idea. The same philosophy applies to pillows, favorite resting spots, and anything else she believes rightfully belongs to her.
For this reason, Freddie needs to be the only dog in her forever home. She can enjoy appropriately matched canine friends outside the home, but sharing her kingdom with another dog simply isn't her style.
And cats? Absolutely not. Freddie has a strong prey drive, so a cat-free home is a must.
But don't mistake her bossy personality for a lack of brains. Freddie is wickedly smart and loves puzzles, enrichment activities, and anything that challenges her remarkable nose.
In fact, after once detecting the scent of a turkey in a particular spot, Freddie continued checking that location long afterward. Because you never know. That turkey might come back.
She's also an accomplished counter surfer. Freddie considers anything left on the kitchen counter a potential opportunity, and its height merely a technical problem requiring a solution.
Did we mention she's smart?
Freddie is also quite the conversationalist. She grunts, huffs, grumbles, and occasionally barks her objections. If you find yourself debating Freddie, just understand one thing: Freddie WILL have the last word.
Fortunately, she responds to clear, consistent boundaries, even if she feels compelled to register her disagreement.
Underneath all that sass is an incredibly loving, affectionate Velcro Weimaraner who adores being close to her person. Freddie tends to bond especially strongly with one individual and has shown a preference for women. In a household with multiple people, everyone should participate in building a relationship with her so she learns that love and attention can come from the entire family.
Personal space? Freddie has never heard of it.
If you're going somewhere, Freddie assumes we're going somewhere. Yes, even to the bathroom.
Freddie's ideal home will have patient, confident humans who appreciate an intelligent, strong-willed girl and can provide consistent boundaries, plenty of mental stimulation, and lots of affection. She needs to be the only dog, with no cats, and would thrive with someone who enjoys engaging that busy Weimaraner brain.
Most importantly, Freddie needs a family with a terrific sense of humor one that understands her quirks are part of what makes her so special.
She's affectionate. She's mischievous. She's demanding. She's occasionally naughty. And she's absolutely unforgettable.
Life with Freddie won't always be quiet. It certainly won't always be tidy. And there's a very good chance you'll never walk across your living room without hearing a squeak.
But boring? Not for one single minute.
Freddie isn't looking for someone to run her world.
She's looking for someone who will love her enough to let her believe she does.
