Griffin is a 15-year-old terrier mix with a frosted face, a gentle spirit, and just enough terrier determination to keep life interesting!
This sweet senior came to Imagine FURever Ranch when his longtime family had to move out of state. Because Griffin does not tolerate lengthy car rides well, they feared the 15-hour journey would be too difficult for him. Their heartbreaking loss has become a tremendous blessing for everyone at the Ranch.
Griffin is calm, quiet, and kind. He is happiest enjoying life's simple pleasures: a comfortable bed, a tasty treat, a leisurely walk, and plenty of time to investigate all the best smells. He moves remarkably well for an older gentleman and is comfortable taking long walks. His tail stands straight up and wags when he is exploring or meeting another dog.
Although Griffin has never been particularly interested in playing with other dogs, he coexists well with them and has no history of aggression or biting. He is comfortable establishing polite boundaries when another dogs greeting becomes a little too enthusiastic. Griffin would likely be happiest with respectful canine companions who understand that he prefers peaceful company to rowdy play.
Griffin is deaf, but that does not prevent him from enjoying his surroundings or connecting with the people who care for him. He is very food-motivated, which can be helpful when gaining his attention and teaching him visual cues. He also loves naps and wastes no time finding the most comfortable bed in the room.
Griffin is neutered, weighs approximately 31 pounds, and is not currently taking any medications. He has been diagnosed with advanced periodontal disease and will need appropriate veterinary follow-up and ongoing dental care.
After more than a decade with the family who rescued and loved him, Griffin deserves another soft place to land. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates senior dogs, quiet routines, relaxing walks, and the special kind of love that comes with giving an older dog his happily FURever after.
