Toby - Terrier Dog for Adoption in Lewis Center, Ohio

Toby is ready for his forever home.

Toby is reported to be an Australian Terrier Mix weighing in at 22 lbs. He is estimated to be 3 yrs old.

Tody was surrendered to Rico Pet Recovery when his owner changed housing. Once in Rico's care, it was discovered that Toby was living in extreme dental pain due to cracked and chipped teeth, some of which were below the root. Our best guess is that he was spending long hours crated and was trying to chew his way out of a crate. Toby has had 6 teeth removed. He is now ready to live a healthy and pain free life. Given his past, Toby is not a fan on the crate. The good news is that he doesn't need to be crated when home alone. He behaves like a gentleman and is not destructive.

Toby is neutered and up to date on vaccines.

Toby lived with a cat in his original home without an issue. Toby resides with other dogs in his foster home.

Toby is a velcro dog, he always keeps his people in sight. Toby loves his people with all of his heart and seeks pets and attention. He did not like to be picked up at first in his foster home, but now that he has become comfortable he allows his fosters to pick him up without any issues. Toby would do best in a home without young children. He needs adopters who are willing to be patient to earn his trust and who will understand his boundaries at first without trying to force him beyond his comfort level.

Toby does well on leash. He is house broken. Toby likes to go on car rides and enjoys pup cups! Toby takes treats very gently.
