Winston - Terrier Dog for Adoption in Closter, New Jersey

Winston is a handsome 5-year-old Terrier who has made wonderful progress in learning to trust people. When he first came into care, he was frightened of nearly everything around him. Over the past few weeks, he's really started coming out of his shell! He's made friends with lots of new people, enjoys going on regular walks, and is becoming more confident as he discovers how wonderful it feels to be loved. One of his favorite things is simply sitting beside someone and enjoying some gentle affection.

Winston is still a sensitive boy who can be startled by sudden movements or quick gestures, especially around unfamiliar people. He needs a patient, understanding adopter who will allow him to build trust at his own pace. A quiet, peaceful adult home where he can be the only pet would be ideal. Winston is vaccinated and has so much potential to become a wonderful, loving companion. He's looking for someone who will give him the time and reassurance he needs to continue blossoming!

ADOPTION PROCESS:

1. You must begin our adoption process by applying to adopt on clawsadopt.org. Please do NOT inquire via Petfinder, social media messengers or in our comments. We will only be looking at applications!

2. Please make sure you fill out our adoption application COMPLETELY. We may not be able to respond to applications that are not completely filled out with the proper information. Side note: on our applications, the more details you provide = the better.

3. We prefer applicants live within 60 miles of Closter, NJ. (Applicants who live farther away may still apply. However, please note we do prioritize local applications as we try our best to serve our local community first.)

4. Please respect our organization, our volunteers and our process. As a reminder, our organization is a nonprofit. We receive no money from the state. We have no paid employees! This is a polite reminder that we are doing our best to make the right decisions for the animals in our care. Thank you.
