DESCRIPTION

Hi! I'm Hunny, a 2 year old, 13 lb Terrier blend with a name that suits me perfectly. Like something sweet and golden, I stay close to the people I love and brighten every room I bounce into. I'm curious, playful and always ready for the next adventure. My foster parents call me “Sunny” because I bring warm, cheerful energy wherever I go. I adore toys, exploring new places and giving enthusiastic kisses to the people I trust.

Favorite Things: Hunny is a joyful little character who thrives on fun and connection. Toys are her greatest treasures and she proudly carries them around as if each one is a prized find. Once she feels comfortable, she melts into affection and enjoys curling up beside her people. Her curious nature shines through in the way she investigates new sights and sounds and her lively, athletic spirit makes her a delightful companion for anyone who enjoys an active dog.

Training and Manners: Hunny is a bright girl who responds beautifully to consistency and positive reinforcement. She is house trained when given frequent outdoor breaks and continues to improve. She walks nicely on a leash, tolerates car rides and sleeps happily in the people bed or in her own cozy spot in the bedroom. Like many young, energetic pups, she's still learning what counts as a chew toy and benefits from gentle redirection. Her eagerness to please and quick mind make training both fun and rewarding.

Health and Care: Hunny is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. She'll need monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention, just like any dog. Her coat is lowmaintenance requiring routine care and nail trims to keep her looking and feeling her best.

Other Animals: Hunny enjoys the company of dogs with a similar play style. She hasn't been formally tested with cats, but her calm curiosity suggests she could adapt well with proper introductions.

Children: Hunny hasn't lived with children in her foster home, but her affectionate nature and gentle demeanor indicate she would likely do well with older, respectful kids who understand how to interact with a small dog.

Ideal Home: Hunny is an active, social pup who thrives with companionship and routine. She experiences anxiety when left alone and expresses her feelings vocally, so she'll do best with someone who is home often or able to help her build confidence gradually. She has shown some hesitation around men, but her foster has been working with her and she's already making encouraging progress as she learns to trust. Hunny would be comfortable in an apartment, townhome or condo as long as she receives plenty of exercise and mental enrichment to keep her engaged. A family who appreciates her playful personality and clever mind will find her endlessly rewarding.

Overall: Hunny is an affectionate, athletic and wonderfully curious little dog who brings sunshine into every day; true to both her name and her nickname, “Sunny Hunny.” She's smart, snuggly, full of charm and ready to become a devoted companion to someone who loves her lively spirit and big heart. With patience, consistency and plenty of toys, she'll blossom into an incredible best friend.

If Hunny's mix of sweetness, smarts and sunshine feels like the perfect addition to your family, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to apply. If it looks like a great match, her foster family will reach out with next steps. Her adoption donation is $500.
