Age: 2 Years Old
Breed: Terrier Mix
Personality: Sweet, loyal, slightly dramatic, and completely devoted once he knows you.

About Harold

Harold is a charming 2-year-old terrier mix with the most expressive eyes and a striking tuxedo coat. Don't let his initial "hard to get" attitude fool you—this boy has a heart of gold. Harold was previously in a home where he loved deeply, but he unfortunately experienced the heartbreak of being left tied up outside a shelter before it opened, the family wanting to get home before dad woke up and noticed the dog was missing. Harold doesn't know why his family stopped loving him. Despite his rough past, his capacity to love hasn't wavered; he is just waiting for the right person to give his whole heart to again.

Harold's Signature Move: The "Soft Growl"

Harold has a unique way of saying hello! When you first meet him, he might greet you with a unique "soft growl." Don't worry—this is just his quirky way of talking to you, testing the waters, and playing a little hard to get. Once he realizes you're a friend, that vocalization melts away into pure, unadulterated affection. He is a truly loyal companion who will love you for life.

Socialization & Buddies

Dogs: Good with dogs! Harold enjoys the company of other canine friends and can make a wonderful companion to an existing dog in the home.
Cats: Unknown. He hasn't met any feline friends yet, so a careful, slow introduction would be required if his new home has cats.
At this time, we are requesting no small kids in the home.

Ideal Home

Patient & Understanding: Harold needs a family that will give him a few days to decompress and realize he is finally safe.
Routine Oriented: A predictable schedule will help him rebuild the confidence he lost when he was abandoned.
