DESCRIPTION
I've got two jobs: protect my people... and run like the wind." πΎπ
Hi, I'm Brownie--a 4-year-old Shepherd mix currently hanging out at DeKalb Humane Society, trying to figure out how I got here and hoping my next stop is a forever home.
Life changed pretty quickly for me, and now I'm starting over. It's a little confusing, but I'm doing my best and holding onto hope that my person is coming for me soon.
Here's what you should know:
πΎ Loyal and protective - I bond closely with my people and take that seriously
πΎ Great with dogs, cats, and kids - I've lived with all and done well
πΎ Active and playful - I LOVE to run and would thrive with space to stretch my legs
πΎ Smart and responsive - I do well with structure and clear guidance
I'll be honest--I could use a refresher on house training and getting back into a routine. Shelter life isn't exactly helping with that, but give me some consistency and I'll catch on quickly.
The hardest part? The kennel.
I'm a dog who's used to being part of a home, and I'm ready to feel that again.
π My family made a very difficult decision because they wanted better for me--and now I just need someone willing to give me that chance.
If you're looking for a loyal, active companion who will love you fiercely and keep life interesting... I'm right here.
π Come meet Brownie at DeKalb Humane Society

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The terrier is a spirited and intelligent dog breed known for its feisty personality and boundless energy. Terriers come in various sizes and coat types, but they all share a common heritage as fearless and determined hunters. These dogs are typically highly trainable, making them versatile companions for active individuals and families alike. With their loyalty and playful demeanor, terriers are beloved for their endless enthusiasm and affectionate nature.
