Hi, I'm Smoker -- and yes, I've perfected the art of being a quiet little shadow.

I came to the shelter as a tiny kitten and thought I had my forever home... but through no fault of my own, I've found myself back here again. It's been a little confusing for me, so I tend to keep to myself at first. Big changes can be scary when you're a soft-hearted girl like me.

But here's the thing most people don't see right away...

Once I feel safe, I love being petted. Like... melt-into-your-hand, close-my-eyes, "oh this is nice" kind of love. I'm just not the type to demand attention -- I wait patiently for someone kind enough to notice me.

I would do best in a quieter home with someone who understands that trust takes time. I'm not flashy. I'm not loud. I'm the kind of cat who forms a deep bond with her person and makes it feel really special.

So if you're the type who roots for the shy one... the one in the corner... the one who just needs a little extra love...
