Meet Johnathan! Johnathan is a 3-year-old, 61-lb Standard Poodle/Great Pyrenees mix that is a smart and gentle giant. He enjoys playing with his foster's resident dogs and super gentle with cats. He is scared of fire and doesn't like to be alone for too long. He loves a good treat game using a blanket or towel so he can hunt for the treats and, of course, this tires him out.
Johnathan enjoys long walks so he can find just the right tree to potty on! He will do great with a family that will help him learn all the basic training he needs to be the best boy he can be. He pulls a bit on the leash and uses pee pads in the house but these are being worked on right now. He also will alert you if people are walking by the house if the windows are left open.
He's a big cuddler and loves to put his paws around you and give you very wet kisses. He also loves the couch time and playing with empty boxes but won't tear up the house. Johnathan is super friendly and would be an amazing family dog but will need a yard or long walks since he's a big boy.
Johnathan is being fostered in Brooklyn, NY and his adoption fee is $500.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
