Meet Dusty! This handsome 18-month-old apricot Standard Poodle weighs about 45 pounds and still has a little filling out to do, but he’s already overflowing with personality and love. Dusty absolutely adores people of all sizes and truly believes everyone he meets is a potential new best friend.

Dusty is a fun-loving, happy guy who enjoys being active and spending time with his people. He gets along well with larger dogs and would love a canine buddy his size to play with. However, he can be a bit too rough and enthusiastic for smaller dogs, and a home with cats is definitely not for him.

This smart boy already has a lot going for him — he is house broken, kennel trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has mastered the dog door. Dusty is looking for a family that will continue helping him thrive while giving him the love, attention, and adventures he deserves.

Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more.)

You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization.

His adoption fee is $350. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar.

Our adoption events are held every other Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

SASPCA Homeward Bound Dog Rescue and San Antonio Great Dane Rescue are 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue groups based in San Antonio, Texas.

Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year.

Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease.

All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.

If your adoption application is approved and you are traveling from out-of-town, we hold your chosen pet for one hour past the event start time to allow for travel time.

We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.

Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.
