Boyd - Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise Dog for Adoption in Riverdale, Iowa

If youve ever wished a teddy bear could come to life, your wish has been granted. Boyd is as cute as the plush bears known as Boyds Bears. He looks like a living stuffed animal with his fluffy coat and adorable face.

Boyd is a 6 month old Shih Tzu/Bichon mix who is equal parts adorable and energetic. Dont let his teddy bear appearance fool you, this little guy is always ready for action! He loves to play and would thrive in a home with a canine playmate who can help burn off some of that puppy energy. A fenced yard is a must for Boyd so he has a safe place to zoom, explore, and get his wiggles out.

His future family should also be prepared for regular grooming appointments to keep his teddy bear good looks in tip top shape.

Like all smart puppies, Boyd needs more than just physical exercise. Mental enrichment, training games, puzzle toys, and learning new skills will help keep his busy mind happy. He will also need a family committed to positive reinforcement training. We highly recommend Fur Better Fur Worse Dog Training or a similar positive reward based training program to help him become the best version of himself.

Boyd is currently living with both dogs and cats and is doing well with them. He absolutely loves people and is always excited to make new friends.

He is still working on house training and crate training. Boyd will let you know hed rather not be in his crate, usually voicing his opinion for about five minutes before settling down and relaxing.

Adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad Cities. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
