I'm a six year old Shih Tzu mix, about 18 pounds of soft heart and second chances. Not too long ago, I ended up on a shelter euthanasia list because of my behavior. I didn't really understand what was happening to me, I just knew I was scared, uncomfortable, and not feeling my best. Then CAMO stepped in for me, and everything started to change.

Turns out I had a pretty painful eye infection, and I really didn't like anyone messing with my face. I think you'd understand that too if you didn't feel good. Now that I've been getting proper care and I can finally feel better, I'm starting to show who I really am.

I like to explore the yard like it's my own little world. I take my time, I enjoy the smells, and I'm learning that people can be kind. If you sit with me gently, I'll come over for pets and treats. Those are kind of my favorite things right now.

Since I've been in a kennel, it's hard to say everything about my house manners, but I do keep my space clean, which I think is a good sign. I haven't met other dogs or cats yet, but I will soon now that I'm fully vetted and ready for my next steps.

My caretakers think I'd do best in an adult only home where life is calm and I can keep learning what it means to feel safe. I'm not looking for perfect, just someone patient who sees me for who I am becoming, not just where I came from.

I was given a second chance already. I'm really hoping for a forever one next.

Adoption fee is: $350

ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com.

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.
