Meet Cocoa - a handsome 10-year-old male Shih Tzu learning what love and comfort truly feel like.

When Cocoa first came to us, he had spent years mostly outdoors on his own. Severely matted, dirty, and unsure of people, he seemed defeated. But after grooming, veterinary care, and love from his foster family, Cocoa has completely started to blossom.

Now this sweet boy enjoys walks, car rides, visits to the dog park, and soaking up attention from everyone he meets. He gets along well with other dogs after a little time to adjust, loves gentle affection, and has even started trying to play like a puppy again.

Cocoa is visually impaired but not blind, and his eye treatments are already helping. He is also being treated for heartworms and ear issues, all of which will continue to be covered through Tired Dog Rescue. He sleeps quietly in his kennel at night and is learning indoor routines more every day.

Cocoa will need a patient, loving home willing to continue helping him feel safe and secure. In return, he will be a loyal little companion with so much love left to give.
