Meet Shilo

Shilo is a 10-month-old black German Shepherd looking for the right home to help him continue building confidence and trust. He is a loving, playful boy who bonds deeply with his family and especially adores children he knows well.

Shilo came from a severely abusive situation before his current family took him in, and while he has made tremendous progress, he still struggles with fear-based protectiveness around unfamiliar people coming into the home. Because of this, he will need an experienced adopter who understands German Shepherds and large working breeds and is willing to continue training and providing structure.

About Shilo: Male German Shepherd 10 months old Neutered Over 50 lbs Housebroken Current on vaccines & heartworm prevention Good with cats Not good with other dogs Loves his family and is very playful

Shilo would do best in: A quieter home with limited visitors A larger yard or country setting with room to run An experienced large breed/shepherd owner committed to continued training Older children or a home with children he already knows well No other dogs

Large breed experience required. Shilo is not a good fit for first-time dog owners.

His family loves him very much and wants to find a home better suited to his needs where he can thrive and feel secure.
