Oliver - Shih Tzu Dog for Adoption in Foley, Alabama

Hi there! I’m Oliver, a 10-year-old, 20-pound Shih Tzu with a gentle soul, a heart full of love and a few extra pounds of fluff to love! Okay, so maybe I’m carrying around about five pounds more than I should be, but that just means there’s a little more of me to cuddle! I’m a sweet, laid-back gentleman who has long since outgrown the need to be the life of the party. At my age, I’ve figured out that the best things in life are a comfortable place to relax, a little affection and someone special to share my days with. I’m not looking for excitement. I’m looking for love, companionship and a soft place to land.

I’m about as easygoing as they come! Nothing really seems to bother me and I’m perfectly content just hanging out and enjoying life at my own pace. I have a low energy level and I’m not particularly interested in running around or playing endless games of fetch. I’m more of a loyal sidekick kind of guy! I’d be the perfect companion for a mom who wants a little buddy following her around while the kids are at school, keeping her company throughout the day and making sure she never feels alone. I’m happy to be part of a family with children, but I’m probably not going to be the one chasing them around the backyard. I’d much rather supervise from a comfortable spot! I could also be a wonderful companion for someone retired or anyone who appreciates a peaceful, loving dog. I could stand to lose about five pounds, so a healthy diet and some gentle walks would help me feel my very best. I may be a little older and a little rounder, but I have so much love left to give!

I’m dog friendly, people friendly and can be cat tested upon request! I’ll come fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. My adoption also includes one month of FREE pet insurance plus a Fi Nano Mini GPS tracker with six months of tracking service. I know everyone loves an adorable puppy, but there’s something pretty special about an older dog who already knows how to appreciate the quiet moments. I’m not asking for much, just someone who will love me, help me get a little healthier and let me spend my golden years being their faithful little companion. Could I be the sweet sidekick you never knew you needed?
