Basil - Shih Tzu Dog for Adoption in Calgary, Alberta

Basil is a 1.5 year old 12 lbs. Shih Tzu mix who is currently looking for his fur-ever home. He is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and neutered.

Notes from the foster home:
It’s amazing what a little patience, love and a safe place can bring out in a dog. In such a short time, Basil has gone from a very timid little guy to a sweet, affectionate cuddle bug who is starting to show us just how much love he has to give.

He absolutely loves being around his people and happily follows us from room to room. He’s discovering that being close to humans means comfort, cuddles and maybe even a little fun.

And this little guy is a gentleman on leash! He walks beautifully and calmly, and has been wonderfully non-reactive around other calm dogs. He’s taking in his new world with such a gentle, easygoing spirit.

Every day, we’re seeing more of Basil — more confidence, more curiosity, more affection. Watching him realize that he is safe, loved and cared for has been incredibly heartwarming.

From a frightened little soul unsure of his surroundings to a sweet boy seeking out cuddles and enjoying his walks... Basil is blossoming right before our eyes.

We can’t wait to see who he becomes when he has a family of his own.
