Miya - Shiba Inu Dog for Adoption in Waunakee, Wisconsin

Miya: Tiny Body, Big Personality & a Special Heart

Miya is a 10-month-old Shiba Inu weighing in at a compact 20ish pounds, but we're pretty sure at least 15 of those pounds are personality. She's basically a tiny Tasmanian devil trapped inside an absolutely adorable Shiba body, complete with the most gorgeous red coat with black overtones.

Miya does have a severe heart murmur, but please don't tell her that because she certainly hasn't gotten the memo. She plays, walks, goes to daycare, and thoroughly enjoys life like any other young dog.

Her heart condition does mean she needs a few precautions. Miya probably won't be your marathon training partner or joining a competitive beach volleyball league anytime soon. ‍ She should avoid strenuous, prolonged exercise and lengthy exposure to heat. Air conditioning is not optional for this princess. She also takes two medications daily, which currently cost around $20/month.

Otherwise? Miya plans to live her life to the fullest and expects you to accommodate her accordingly.

And yes, she is VERY much a Shiba.

You: “Miya, get off the kitchen table.”

Miya: “Interesting suggestion. Anyway, I'll be getting comfortable right here.”

She is confident, sassy, entertaining, and fully convinced that she is the queen and you simply live in her world.

The good news? Her royal highness loves kids, cats AND other dogs! She walks nicely on leash, attends doggy daycare, and does great playing and socializing with her friends.

Miya is looking for a family who understands her heart may be a little different, but it certainly isn't stopping her from having a whole lot of life, love, and Shiba attitude packed into one adorable little body.
