Dutch is the kind of puppy who makes your heart ache in the sweetest way — because you can see how badly he wants to be brave, even though the world still feels so big and confusing to him. This 3monthold Shepherd mix was picked up as a stray, and life clearly hasn’t taught him yet that he’s allowed to feel safe. Dutch has a face so handsome it almost feels unfair — but beneath all that beauty is a baby who’s still learning how to exist. He’s very timid as of now, the kind of pup who needs gentle reassurance, soft voices, and patient hands. He gives up easily when he’s unsure, looking to his humans for confidence, comfort, and permission to try again. And oh, does he love his humans. Dutch is wonderful with kids and adults, melting into anyone who offers him warmth. He’ll tuck himself right against you, trusting you completely in those quiet moments. With other dogs, he’s still uncertain — not reactive, just unsure — but his tail wag when he sees another dog could power a small town! Dutch loves exploring the backyard, trotting around with his adorable “I’m-still-learning-how-to-run” gait. He’s curious, observant, and happiest when he’s allowed to move at his own pace. Every new experience is a tiny victory for him. At the groomer, Dutch was a star — nails trimmed, ears cleaned, and not a single complaint. He let them hold his paws, touch his ears, and handle him gently. He was so wellbehaved, proving that beneath the uncertainty is a puppy who wants to trust, wants to learn, and wants to belong. Dutch needs a family who will celebrate small steps, offer steady encouragement, and help him discover that being a dog is fun, safe, and full of love.
