Axl is the definition of a good boy. Friendly with everyone he meets—dogs, kids, and visitors—he has an easygoing, lovable personality that makes him a complete joy to have around 🥹
He’s fully house trained, uses the dog door, and will even choose to relax in his kennel on his own. That said, Axl definitely enjoys having the freedom to come and go as he pleases. He’s independent but still thoughtful—he’ll check on his buddy Sue if she’s upset, then happily go about his day.
Axl does have some arthritis and weakness in his back knees and hips, so while he still enjoys walks, he takes life at a slightly slower pace. He seems a bit more like a 9-year-old than 7, but that just means you get the best part—calm, steady companionship without losing that sweet spirit.
If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who gets along with everyone, Axl is your guy. 🫶🏼
Peep the last photo for Axl’s shelter picture 💔 he had a mass growning on his mouth and was placed on the euthanasia list for medical needs. It’s (obviously) been removed and the vet stated although it could possibly come back, it’s not overly likely and was not cancerous 🥰
