Meet Chip, a 6-month-old Shepherd mix with a great smile and an even better disposition.
Chip has already had a few challenges in his short life. Despite being completely innocent, he found himself on death row before Barkin Dogs Rescue stepped in and took a chance on him. He currently has a minor fracture and is on mostly crate rest for the next few weeks, but he doesn’t seem fazed by it at all and is expected to make a full recovery.
In true Shepherd fashion, Chip wants to be as close to his people as possible and will happily follow you anywhere. If he can’t fit in your lap, he’s perfectly content sitting right beside you on the couch. The Chipster really just wants to love and be loved.
Chip is still an energetic puppy and learning his manners, but he’s picking things up quickly. He already knows sit and comes when called, assuming he ever gets far enough away from you to need calling! Zoom Room on Metcalf is also generously donating a free month of puppy classes to help Chip and his adopter continue building those skills together.
He is crate trained at night and does great with people, dogs, and cats. Right now he needs as much crate rest as possible while his fracture heals. He isn’t a huge fan of being confined, but he settles nicely at your feet and is happiest just being near his people.
Chip is a sweet, loyal, people-loving puppy who is going to make someone an incredibly devoted companion.
Adoption fee: $500
Chip will be fully vetted prior to adoption, including age-appropriate vaccinations, preventatives, microchip, and neuter.
