Basch is a 2-year-old AKC Border Collie with a BIG brain, an athletic body, and all the potential in the world. He is incredibly smart, eager to learn, and exactly the kind of dog who thrives when he has something to do.
Basch is still very much a young, energetic Border Collie at heart. He loves to be involved, loves to learn, and needs an owner who understands that a busy brain needs an outlet. When his mental and physical needs are being met, he is an awesome dog and an incredibly fun partner. When he gets bored, though, hes more than capable of coming up with his own entertainment!
Because of his intelligence and energy level, Basch is looking for an active, dog-savvy home that is excited about continuing his training and giving him appropriate ways to use that Border Collie brain. He would be an awesome prospect for someone interested in dog sports, hiking, trick training, advanced obedience, or simply having an athletic companion to adventure with.
Basch doesnt necessarily need to become a competition dog. He just needs someone who enjoys DOING things with their dog. He wants to learn, work, explore, and be included. Plus he knows a TON of tricks.
He is still young and can absolutely be a handful when he hasnt had enough appropriate mental and physical stimulation, so he probably isnt the best match for someone looking for a laid-back couch potato. Basch will thrive with consistency, structure, training, and someone who can appreciate everything that comes along with owning a smart, energetic working breed.
For the right person, that same intensity and intelligence are exactly what make him so special. He has so much potential and is ready for someone who wants to channel it into something amazing.
